Fried pickles? Dare I ask what that is?

Well, fried pickles of course. What else would it be?

Well duh Adam
Actually what I wanted to know was how are they fried, breaded? With breadcrumbs? With batter? Just deep fried with nothing? Are they whole pickles, slices, dill, garlic, etc. Never heard of that before.

If done right (I haven’t tried them at Blues yet), they are dills that are sliced, very lightly breaded and then fried. Here’s a pretty good explanation and a generic recipe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_Pickles

Fried pickles have been popping up here and there lately. I saw them on the new menu at Horizon Bar & Grill (which is supposed to open this month). Also, there used to be a restaurant out in Cloverdale called The Fried Pickle with a specialty of…you guessed it.
I’ve been pretty pleased by Blues BBQ so far.
