My Roanoke Story.
There’s this really neat new website called My Roanoke Story that I just discovered. It “is a collaborative effort to highlight the amazing diversity of Roanokers and the talent pool of the Roanoke Valley” and features stories about the people who live, work, and play in the Roanoke Valley. Check it out. You may just find my story there…

I sorta couldn’t help but exceed my 2-3 paragraph limit. How can you tell your story in that?! Anyhoo, maybe they’ll feature me. And it turns out my DH knows Stuart Mease, one of the guys who helped start up the site. Apparently he’s an interesting character.

Stuart is responsible for Connecting People, and is the “goodwill ambassador” that Roanoke hired to reach out to young professionals. Overall, he does a good job, reaching out through various channels to attract younger folks to the valley, though I’m not sure his efforts are paying off as much as he’d like. This certainly is an interesting twist though, because this site seems to spotlight young and old alike.
