harvest festival.
Saturday, October 13th is the big day for the Harvest Festival on the Roanoke City Market. It’s being held from 10am to 4pm on the Market as well as on the corner of First St. and Church. Unlike last year, the event will be held regardless of rain. Antique tractors will be on display down Kirk Ave. There will also be children’s activities, wagon rides, a petting zoo, cloggers, contests, and of course, crafts and produce. Be sure to grab some apples and pumpkins before you leave for baking up sweet treats like Warm Caramel Apple Cake, Cornbread Apple Cobbler, Magically Fast Apple Pie, Pumpkin Flan, Pumpkin Pie with Spice Walnut Streusel, and Pumpkin Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce. You can also download some great stencils online for decorating your favorite orange gourd.
