apples! (finally.)
Sorry I’ve been lax on my posts this week. Between Olde Salem Days and the BBQ in the Park on Saturday, traffic and vendors on the Market were a little light. However, for those who have been looking for home grown apples since, well forever, you now have your wish. Charlie Lavinder and Debbie Guthrie both have had Gala apples the past few weekends. I think I may have also seem some Golden Delicious on Debbie’s table as well. Anyway, be sure to stop by and grab a bag full. They keep a fairly good while if you store them in the fridge, and they are pretty tasty. Right now look for Charlie on Fridays and Saturdays on the corner in front of Thomas’ Market. You can generally find the Guthrie’s Thursday through Saturday in front of the Little Dipper.
I guess you want recipes now. Well, you’re in luck. Land o’ Lakes sent me an email this morning full of their recipes of the month, and they just happened to be all about apples.
